Pollack To Retire
April 22nd, 2008 by BrandonMarvin Lewis says that linebacker David Pollack will retire from the NFL. Lewis said “David has expressed to me that I believe … he’s headed [into] retirement. He is not completely comfortable medically where he has been given an opportunity … to play football. We know the quality of person [he is] and he has a bright future no matter what he chooses to do.”
Pollack suffered a serious neck injury in 2006 against the Cleveland Browns. The former first-round pick has 4 1/2 career sacks.
Pollack had tried hard to make a comeback but if his body isn’t healthy enough, it’s really not worth the risk of not being able to walk or worse. Lewis said that Pollack is interested in coaching.
